Original Title: Turned computer on and all got was a black screen message "windows failed to start " status : 0xc0000001 , tells me to insert windows installation disc but I dont have a disc , please help

Have since found out that the hard drive is broken and need to obtain a new hard drive.
If the hard drive dies you'll need install disks to reinstall Windows, if you don't have any:
Preinstalled - If you don't have the restore partition or install disks:
Contact the OEM computer manufacturer and ask them to send you an install disk for your computer - they may or may not do it.
If they agree to send you one they may charge a small fee.
